Sorry the picture is a
bit out of focus.
Still you can see how
the latch was welded.
One thing you have to
avoid when welding the
latch is allowing the
springs to get hot and
loose their temper.
I used little pieces of
scrap stailess steel left
over from the firewall
to make reflectors to
protect the springs.
Then I welded a littlebr>
at a time, never letting
the heat build up.
