This is the carberator I plan to use.
It's half of a dual set from a 1957 MGA.
This has to be the simplest carberator in
the world. There is only 1 jet!
The mixture control adjusts that jet
under normal operation.
Most of the cars called this the "choke"
but it wasn't a choke at all, it was
mixture control.
The plenum (air chamber) has the effect of
adjusting the mixture automatically for
altitude.
For you Corvair folks, I know this flys
in the face of what William Wynne preaches.
He simply says he "detests all things British".
Aside from some great little cars I think they
built some fantastic planes during WWII.
Anyway I'll try this carb and if it doesn't
deliver, I'll use something else. The price
was right. I think I spent 60 dollars on a
rebuild kit.
