This picture shows where I pick up the oil for the fifth bearing.
This is the oil take out and is where you normally measure the pressure.
You can see the blue aluminum line going forward toward the bearing and a small plastic tube that feeds the mechincal oil pressure guage on my test stand.
In the aircraft installation this will be replaced by an electric pressure sender.
Dan wessman recommends using a location near the oil pump.
I chose this location instead due to ease of installation and inspection.
I am also not using the recommended high volumn oil pump.
On the test runs the oil pressure was maintaining a good constant 40psi except while idling.
At idle the pressure drops to around 20psi.
This is the same performance I was getting before installing the bearing.
The oil remained in reasonable temps during the runs despite 90 degree weather the day of the test runs.
