About this Web Sight

I put this web sight together to share my home built airplane project with others.
To help avoid boring my intended audience(other builders) I'm emphasising the things
that may be a bit different than the standard Zodiac kit project.

To start with it's plans built from scratch. Nearly every part was made in my living
room by me. Along the way I've made a number of tools for the task.
I've made a number of changes, mostly minor that may be of interest. To start with
I'm dimpling the skins for flush rivets and using solid rivets were ever I can.
Another modification I've made is to move the wing step structure inside the fuselage.
There are a few pictures of the parts for my steps on the "Controls" page.
Another departure from the plans is that I am planning on using a manual flap actuator.
The largest modification I've made is the use of Aircraft Spruce's 2 piece landing gear.
I'm not really sure how they get away with calling this a Zodiac gear. It's completely
different from those in the plans, requiring some substantial structural changes.
The big advantage is that it only weighs a few pounds.

I bit about me. I live in Central Virginia. I'm a software engineer and private pilot.
