This picture shows the
first couple of layers
of fiberglass. I built up
5 layers of fiberglass
cloth then finished it
with a layer of fiberglass
mat. One of the things
that took me the longest
on this part was getting
the right materials. I
almost made the mold
with bondo resin
from the local Wallmart.
Then I read something
about polyester resin
that made me think I
should use epoxy resin.
So I ordered epoxy
from AcS.
Polyester resin had
2 things going against it.
1: it wasn't compatible
with the epoxy surface
coat I had ordered, and
2: it shrinks over time.
