Part of my experience
with building this plane
has been never having
the right materials or
tools when I need them.
The instructions on mixing
the expoxy resins were
very clear that it should
be done by weight, but I
didn't have a scale.
I played around with
some ill concieved short
cuts, like using a yard
stick and ballancing cups
of liquid at given distances
from a center rod.
I found out why ballance
scaleslook like they do,
and so made one.
It took me about 3 hours
to make.
The proportions of the
resins I was to make were
100:44 and 100:11.
I little math showed
that 9:4 was
very close to 100:44
And 9:1 is close to 100:11,
so I made myself up 9 oz,
4 oz and 1 oz containers
of water.
I used these as standards
and used the same type and
size of containers when
measuring out the resins
and hardeners.
