Cover the table with 4 MIL plastic sheet. Lay your nose skin material on top. Mine was .025 6061 T6. Draw a center line on the sheet. I left some extra skin material to trim later. Lay the pipe down on the center. Mine was 1" steel pipe with an OD of about .13. I had to join 2 pieces with a dowl inside to form a 12 length. Then I tied the pipe down tight with some laundry cord. Next tape across the piece and begin to draw the skin up into a boat shape. Here I am pulling the tape up a little at a time. After about 45 minutes of pulling the tape a little at a time I have the ends pulled together. Next wrap the plastic around it and tape the seams. The vacuum cleaner gets taped into the plastic. One mistake I made was not leaving any slack plastic on the ends. There needs to be enough plastic so that when the vacuum is applied there's enough lenth to reach the flattened piece, which is longer than the rounder, non flattened pieces. Here are the nose skins untaped. Don't expect to reuse the plastic sheet. It gets destroyed in the process.
